Your video never leaves your phone.
It is analyzed on the device and deleted straight after. This page is the long version of that sentence.

What Albie sends
Two things, to two places. Both are on by default, both are named on a notice shown before your first swing, and one switch in settings turns off both.
1. Measurements from your swing
About thirty numbers per swing: how far your hips turned, how long the backswing took, the angle of your lead elbow, and so on. Also whether a clip was rejected, which fix you were given, and your answer if you tap Yes, Not sure, or No.
They exist so the thresholds behind the advice can be fitted to real golfers instead of a handful. They are stored as sent, and they are not linked to anything about you.
2. Counts of what happened in the app
Events like “opened the app”, “filmed a swing”, “the clip was refused”, “a fix was given”, plus crash reports. No measurements travel on this stream, and no event describes your body.
What is never sent
- The video. Not a frame of it, not a still, not a thumbnail.
- Your name, email address, phone number, or contacts.
- Your location.
- Anything from your camera roll other than the single clip you choose to analyze, which is also never uploaded.
- Any advertising identifier. Albie shows no ads and does not track you across apps or websites, which is why it never asks permission to.
The random id, and how to break it
What Albie sends is tagged with a random id generated on your phone the first time you open it. It is tied to nothing about you or your device. It exists because the useful comparison is between your own swings, and rows that cannot be grouped support population averages and nothing else.
Settings has "Unlink my past swings", which throws that id away and starts a new one. What was already sent stays where it is, unattached to anything sent afterwards. Your swings on the phone are untouched.
Switching it off
Settings, "Send measurements and usage". Off means nothing is sent from that point on. Albie keeps working exactly as before: everything that produces your one fix happens on the phone either way.
Settings also has "Export my swing data", which hands you everything Albie has measured from your swings as a spreadsheet you can keep or send on.
Who processes it
- Microsoft Azure
- Hosts the endpoint that receives swing measurements, and this website. United States.
- Aptabase
- Receives the usage counts and crash reports. United States.
- Apple and Google
- Distribute the app and report their own download and crash statistics to us. Their privacy policies govern that, not this one.
Data is processed in the United States. If you are in the UK or the EU, that transfer is covered by the standard contractual clauses those providers offer.
How long it is kept
Swing measurements are kept while they are useful for fitting the advice, and are not tied to you in a way that would let them be handed back or picked out. Usage counts follow Aptabase's own retention. The video is deleted from your phone as soon as it has been read, and was never anywhere else.
This website
It is a set of static files. No cookies, no analytics, no trackers, and no fonts or scripts fetched from anyone else. Nothing here follows you, and there is nothing to consent to.
The host keeps ordinary server logs of requests, including IP addresses, for security and to keep the site running. Those are not used to build any profile.
Children
Albie is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them. It asks for no personal information from anyone.
Your rights
Depending on where you live you may have the right to see, correct, or delete personal information a company holds about you, and to object to its processing. Albie holds none: there is no account, no name, and no email address, and what it does send is not linked to you.
The practical controls are on the phone, in settings, and they are immediate: switch sharing off, unlink your past swings, or export everything Albie has measured. Deleting the app removes everything held on the device.

Changes
If this policy changes, the date below changes with it, and anything that alters what leaves your phone will be disclosed in the app before it does.
